4FRONT is a member of the consortium who is responsible for providing the three crucial Scoreboards on research and innovation performance at the EU level for the period of 2024-2027. The European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), the Eco-Innovation Scoreboard, as well as of the Regional Innovation Scoreboard (RIS) are conducted by the consortium led by EFIS Centre, other partners being Visionary Analytics, Technopolis Group and Old Continent Agency.
The Scoreboards give policy makers an accurate data how EU and Members States are performing i.e. what are the trendlines at the national level. The data provides a possibility to compare and benchmark countries at EU level.
- The EIS provides a comparative assessment of the innovation performance of the EU Member States and the relative strengths and weaknesses of the innovation systems.
- The Eco-innovation Scoreboard gathers data on eco-innovation performance across the EU and beyond, thus helping to monitor and evaluate progress made since 2010.
- The RIS, in turn, provides a comparative assessment of the research and innovation performance of EU Member States and other European countries at regional level.
In addition to provide updated annual information, the methodology, quality and attractiveness of the scoreboard tools will be improved, and their usability and outreach will be increased in the project. The revision of the EIS/RIS will be built on the expertise of the R&I policy and data/statistics community in parallel to the needs of its users. Policymakers and stakeholders will be consulted e.g. in order to identify challenges and bottlenecks in national or regional innovation systems.
