4FRONT’s expert team is growing, as Maria Merisalo and Paula Salomaa join us, bringing in their strong expertise in innovation policy, research commercialisation and innovation ecosystems.
Maria’s main areas of expertise include innovative public procurement and demand-side innovation policy, innovation scaling, and digital and AI transformation in the health and social sector. She has led or contributed to numerous national and international research and client projects, and her research has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals, including Research Policy, Science and Public Policy, and the Journal of Public Procurement.
Paula has extensive experience in designing and leading professional learning, executive education, and research commercialization programs. She has also worked for more than a decade across the Nordic countries and Silicon Valley, building collaboration between universities, companies, startups, public organisations, investors and research-driven founders. Paula is also the Principal Consultant of her own company, Aitoware Oy.
