Impact Study assesses Business Finland’s support for Co-Innovation
A recently published study conducted jointly by 4FRONT and The Evidence Network Inc. focused on the impact of Business Finland’s Co-Innovation and Co-Creation instruments for joint innovation projects between research organisations and companies.
The study highlights that dedicated instruments supporting co-innovation are highly important when SMEs wish to engage in ambitious research collaborations. Based on the findings, these projects have also demonstrated notable success. The funding has enlarged R&D networks, engaged new companies into the networks and significantly improved their capabilities. The projects have, for the most part, achieved success, however with research organisations reaping the most significant benefits.
The study recommends that in the future, increased emphasis be put on strategic ecosystem aspects, as well as on the scaling and internationalisation of projects.
